MSG receives two Demag AC 160-5 all terrain cranes
ZWEIBRÜCKEN, February 28, 2017 – “The overall design behind the Demag® AC 160-5 shows that every single detail was carefully thought out, which is why the crane is a great addition to the in-demand 160-tonne crane segment,” points out Björn Jatz, Company Officer at Kehl-based crane service provider MSG.
His company ordered two of these cranes from Terex Cranes. Jatz received the first of them from Sales Manager Michael Zieger and Wallerscheid Plant Manager Thorsten Quadflieg in Zweibrücken at the beginning of January.
Jatz and his crane operators were not only sold on the Demag AC 160-5’s outstanding build quality, but also on its crucial design advantages. These include, for instance, a compact build with a width of only 2.75 meters that has proven to be highly advantageous for projects in the middle of urban areas, for example. This advantage is further enhanced by the fact that the crane’s maximum available lifting capacity can be used at all times thanks to its IC‑1 Plus control system – even when using asymmetricall outrigger settings. Other advantages mentioned by Björn Jatz include the fact that the unit has an impressive boom length of 68 meters despite its compact dimensions and that many of the components in the Demag 5-axle family of products, such as counterweights, main boom extension, and hoist 2, are interchangeable. “This is especially compelling for customers who operate multiple locations,” explains Michael Zieger.
