New Demag AC 220-5 for Occilev
Occilev, a recently founded subsidiary of the Cauvas Group, which is headquartered in Bonneuil-en-France near Paris (France), put a brand new Demag® AC 220-5 all terrain crane into service. “The AC 220-5 is the perfect machine for our projects in the greater Paris area. In particular, the hydraulic folding jib and the 78-meter main boom, which is the longest on any 5-axle unit, made it our first choice,” says Benjamin Cauvas, Cauvas and Occilev General Manager, explaining his company’s purchase decision.
A further advantage makes the crane particularly suited for city projects: Despite its system length of up to 99 meters, the AC 220-5 is more compact than any other crane in the 220-tonne lifting capacity class, measuring only 14.52 meters in length and three meters in width. On top of this, it remains well below the axle load limit of 12 tonnes even with a payload of up to 600 kilograms. This means it can be used extensively on many roads in and around Paris, which is another important reason why Occilev opted for the Demag AC 220-5.
